Share my opinions on these two poems.
In our TOK class, we were get to discuss how these two poems (Walt Whitman: From Song of Myself [1855] and First stanza of The Man with a Blue Guitar by Wallace Stevens [1937]. While I was reading the first poem, I thought that the following poetry is evoking us the acceptance that we need to listen to the others. Specifically, Whitman implies that the individual must pay attention to all different experiences of the individuals and be "listen to all sides, and filter them from yourself". Whitman calls upon the importance in humanity, which is to experience the world with the open-minded conceptual behavior. I believe this is related to "faith / momory" in Ways of knowing as we have trust and understand each individual's experiences in order to explore the world.
