About the author of this blog

Hi, my name is Ire Joung who lives in Abu Dhabi. To pronounce my first name: E-ray. That's how you pronounce correctly. I started to attend Raha International School since end of 2014 and I always loved to read a variety of literature in Korean and English. Of course, I don't read all the time :D. I'm not the kind of person who reads the book for entire day. Nowadays, my interests account for playing and listening to music! Please remember that my English cannot be perfect as I'm still learning how and why English works in different situations. :) Without further ado, I'll focus in introducing English literature! Excited? Meh. The posts that I will be uploading are going to be about English stories that entail diverse of themes and will contain my straightforward perspectives toward them. In doing so, the questions that you guys will be asking are always welcomed as I want to express my opinions about 'how you guys think about this one". And don't be afraid to ask and leave some comments whether you think differently or agree with it.
According to the fact that I'm studying literature currently, I thought it'd be better giving an short interpretation of literature to me! :P To me, studying literature allows me to have deeper understanding towards the text and there's unlimited power in stories. Really, I think the best part of literature is to figure out how each words, phrases and sentences build up its fascinating atmosphere. The reason why literature is important? Well, I believe that English has influences on the most area of studies. Thus, studying literature will act as a lens that will allow us to look through the universal truths which the author intended to write, therefore, gaining remarkable insight into them! Astonishing! Right?
If you ask me the genre that I like the most for reading a book, is historical fiction! <3 One of the historical fiction that I liked the most is "Les Misérables by Victor Hugo!" I'm certain most of you heard of the book :D If not, the book is considered as the greatest novel during 19th century and its language is in French, however, translated into different languages! The novel heavily reflects upon anti-monarchism, moral philosophy, familial love, etc. Therefore, the novel gives us a canvas where we can conceive the criticism of Victor Hugo against the judicial and political system in France in 19th century.
Well, I guess that's information about me in a nutshell! I hope you enjoying view the posts in this blog. Again, don't hesitate to leave comments and opinions about the text that I'll be talking about! Thank you so much for reading!
